About Dr. Jaime Ponce de Leon Palomares
Dr. Jaime Ponce de Leon, is the medical director of Mexico Bariatrics‘ weight loss program. Dr. Ponce de Leon is a leading weight-loss surgeon in Mexico with extensive clinical experience, more than 22 years of practice, and is board-certified in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Ponce de Leon has dedicated his life to the fight against obesity and is committed to helping patients realize the benefits that bariatric surgery provides.
Dr. Ponce de Leon and his exceptional staff believe in not only ensuring that the patient is well prepared for their weight loss procedure, they are also well educated on the steps necessary to produce success. The patient’s success is their success.
Dr. Ponce de Leon earned his medical degree from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo (UMSNH), and completed his general surgery residency at Hospital General de Tijuana (Tijuana General Hospital).
Since completing a fellowship in laparoscopic weight loss surgery in the United States and France, Dr. Jaime Ponce de Leon has performed thousands of advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeries, over 8,000 (eight thousand) surgical procedures.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ponce de Leon has been a member of research teams that have published articles on a variety of surgical topics in several peer-reviewed journals. He continues to be involved in research and the development of innovative weight-loss surgery procedures.
